Core Academy (formerly known as Saturday School) is an additional instructional day offering academic support in various core subject areas to help students reach their academic goals.

CORE ACADEMY FAQs

WHO CAN ATTEND CORE ACADEMY?

Core Academy is open to ALL Clairemont High School students as long as they register in advance.


Students attending Core Academy may recover one (1) eligible full day absence or (4) period absences for each full day (4 hours) of attendance at Core Academy. Or they can recover 16 tardies.

WHEN IS CORE ACADEMY?

Core Academy is held at Clairemont High School on select Saturdays throughout the school year. A complete list of dates can be found below.


Core Academy is from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.


Students MUST be on time in order to be permitted to attend.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR CORE ACADEMY?

Students who wish to attend Core Academy my sign up in one of the following ways:


WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Session topics are developed based on student interest and/or need AND staffing availability.


Students may also elect to use this time as study hall.


Students will receive a written reminder notification the Friday before that notes the location and session topic.

POLICIES & PROCEDURES

CELL PHONE POLICY

IF you bring a cell phone, you are expected to keep it put away and OFF.

SCHOOL RULES

All students are expected to participate in the session topic OR quietly work on work/homework/silent reading throughout the duration of Core Academy.


CHS dress code applies.


Be respectful of school property and school personnel.


Arrive on time!


Failure to abide by policy or directives from personnel will result in removal of the student from Core Academy and meeting with the CHS Administration upon return to school the following week.
