Summer School

Purpose of Summer School (3 Programs):

RECOVERY: Summer school is a remediation/recovery option for students who earned a D/F grade in available courses (A-G courses), from Quarter 1-4.

ADVANCEMENT: Summer school could also offer courses for ADVANCEMENT to get ahead in subjects such as math or world language. 

CCTE Courses: See flyer below labeled, "CCTE"

*Students can chose ONLY ONE SS Program (Recovery, Advancement, or CCTE). Students cannot take CCTE courses and recovery at the same time for example. *

 Enrollment: Students may visit their school's counselor for guidance and enrollment.

*Clairemont has an online registration system open for all students UNTIL June 10th. Students wanting to sign up at other school sites need to GO/contact the other school site.

In person: Clairemont High will be hosting summer school on our campus. In-Person is ONLY for Recovery. 

  • Students can recover a maximum of 4 available courses in person
  • If there is an online option - maximum of 2 available courses
  • Session Dates- See flyer below

SDUSD does not allow students who are receiving a remediated credit to miss more than 2 days.  Because the summer program is condensed, seat time is critical and absences beyond two days are not allowed or permitted.   

Summer School Staff differs than regular school year staff. Please reach out to the school site to direct you to the right person with your question/concern.

No School on June 19th, July 4th, and July 5th

Shuttle Service will be provided from the closed school sites to the designated host site:

(PLEASE NOTE:  There will only be one shuttle in the morning and one in the afternoon - No Shuttles mid-day, after period 2)

Canyon Hills will be transported to Henry

Hoover will be transported to Mission Bay

La Jolla and UC High will be transported to Madison 

Mira Mesa will be transported to Scripps Ranch

Point Loma will be transported to Mission Bay
